Copings

Trying to cope with copings can require copious amounts of comprehension; phew. Call Malachi Consulting to sort this one out. For starters, to “cope” anything means to trim or decorate a leading-edge (of a building or appurtenance), and typically on three planes. The most handsome and under-appreciated example of this method occurs in over half of all commercial buildings. It is known as “parapet coping” and it is a hard worker. It protects the wall assembly sandwich of components from the elements and strengthens the exposed top of the wall. Look up at the very top of the next building you walk in to. If you see a metal or colored “cap” up there, that is your good friend the parapet. If it fails, water will certainly destroy the wall assembly from the inside out. Malachi Consulting is your first source for decorative and architectural metal copings.
